The 14th running of the Irish Oaks was held on Wednesday 22nd July 1908 over 1 mile of The Curragh, starting at the Madrid Post. A pot of 300 sovereigns was availble, 20 sovereigns to the second and 10 sovereigns to the third. The winner was owned by Mr Richard Croker, trained by Allen at Glencairn, County Dublin, and ridden by Steve Donoghue. The winner won by 1 1/2 lengths, with 1 1/2 lengths between second and third.

RACE REPORT

Queen of Peace broke well and led early from Saucy Sally, St Grisilda and Americus Girl. With 3 furlongs to run, the favourite Americus Girl took closer order, and inside the distance was within a length of Queen of Peace, but got no closer. Queen of Peace held on to win by 1 1/2 lengths, with a further 1 1/2 lengths back to St Grisilda.
